Hi :) Have you tried renaming your User Profile to reset all the settings back to factory defaults? I am not getting the same problem on Ubuntu 10.04, i haven't yet tried with 12.04.  So i don't think it should be happening with Xubuntu either but i don't know how to dig around the relevant set
