I recently updated to this version, and immediately noted that upon
invocation of the main menu data>sort function to sort a group of rows
there is about a 2 second delay before anything happens. The number of rows
being sorted seems unrelated to the delay. I've never seen this behavior

Sounds like a perfect time to suggest they install LO too.
If an Excel person hadn't immediately found what they were looking for in
Calc they would have immediately claimed that Calc couldn't do the task.

Do you have the 32bit or 64bit version of the application and/or Help
installed?
Look in the Programs and Features control panel to see what versions are
installed.
