I found that if I saved your file in Calc as an ods, the err:509 would
go away.
I then re-saved as the xlsx file and still did not get the Err:509.
I do not know if anything in the file is lost during the file type changes.

What I found on my LibreOffice 3.5.5.2 (vista): lower case fn did not
work(error like OP), upper case FN does work. In calling up the
autotext dialog, then selecting 'formula numbering', the dis
|Options|Fonts, you can use font substitution to change the
"Courier New 10 pt" font to a different font. FYI: This will impact any
other documents that use the "Courier New" font that may not be plain
text files.
